Visions of the Human Energy Structure

Yangönpa’s Hidden Description of The Vajra Body presents the triad constituting the Vajra Body – the channels, energy-winds, and vital essences – as the basis for the application of experiential yogic techniques. Buddhism often relegates the body to a role subordinate to that of the mind; the focus of Yangönpa’s Hidden Description is the body itself, with its manifold layers – coarse, subtle, and very subtle.

In his presentation of the human body’s energetic structure he contends that it is not simply the means to achieve enlightenment, but enlightenment itself, blending the Highest Tantra notion of the body as the method with the Total Perfection (rdzogs chen) principle of inherently present enlightenment as the fundamental nature of all phenomena.

GYALWA YANGÖNPA realized the nature of mind at the age of eight upon hearing instructions on the Dzogchen mind cycle of teachings. And at age nine he was installed as the abbot of Lhadong monastery, where he gave profound religious discourses, establishing his reputation as an enlightened emanation. During his lifetime, 1213-1258, he was devoted to four precious masters of different lineages. Under the guidance of the first two, he undertook solitary retreat and, following a clear vision of the energetic system of body and mind, came to master this inseparable matrix.
An exceptional being gifted with powers, knowledge, and wisdom, Yangönpa led an exemplary life and his spiritual achievements won him a large number of followers. His literary output left a mark in the writings of later masters of all Tibetan schools, including Tsongkhapa, the Eighth Karmapa, Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Thaye, Raga Asya, and Jigmed Lingpa.

This book presents for the first time the translation of two texts, the biography of Yangönpa, The Great Mirror, and his short but illuminating treatise Hidden Description of the Vajra Body.

Мазалтов! (без понятия что это значит, но хасиды так говорят :-)
Дожили таки!
Вышла в свет первая книга по ану-иоге.
Из серии "Шедра" братьев кенпо.
С опоздание, но выпустили. Toлько что почтальён принёс.
Там даже есть упражения трулкхора, тса-лунг, tummo и обширные пометки (четверть книги) со множеством цитат из тантр.
Если до сегодняшниго дня единствены источником объяснений тантр этого класса был почетнный ННР,
то с сегодняшнего дня есть уже первая книга посвещённая целиком этому классу тантр!

Молодец, хорошaя книга выбрана. И перевод на русский будет весьма полезен!
По крайней мере, для ультра-ортодоксов от Буддизма.
Помнится книгу этого же автора о буддийском ренесансе в Тибете (появление школ сарма) прочёл с огромным интересом...

Кстати, это его вебсайт? Там очень приличная подборка статей. А перевод дхарани Авалокитешвары я даже отпечатал для себя на бумаге.
вообще именно востоковедческий уклон для буддиста в русско-язычном интернете редкость пока...

Я подобную работу забросил лет 8 назад, так и не доделав перевод диссертации по Расaяне. После рождения сына было не до переводов мнго лет...
Хорошо, что нашeлся кто-то, кто продолжает востоковедческую пеpеводческую тему в русскоязычном интернете...

Я хотел бы в этом посту порекоммендовать одну книгу, которая превзошла все мои ожидания.
Я бы её зачислил в десятку лучших книг, которые я читал по тибетской традиции.

Работа по качеству превосходит даже диссертацию Харсела по "тантрической иоге" и касается теории и практики Махамуды.
Автор профессиональный психолог, изучавший и практиковавший махамудру около 2о лет и перелопативший множество тибеских текстов
(он и переводчик с тибеского).
Отличительная черта этой книги, - весь материал серьёзно "переварен" и частично "прожит".
В одну книгу собраны материлаы из множества тибетских источников и рассортированы по
каждой из ступеней пути махамудры, указывакя истоки традиции, авторов, тексты и практическое
применение доктрин на которых они основаны.
Могу оценить эту книгу, как стоящeю целой полки уже опубликованых материалов по махамудре на английском.

В книге нет воды вообще, стиль академический: применительнo к практике системы.

Ввиду того, что автор не ринпоче и даже не азиат, видимо, книга спросом не пользуется и потому цена весьма доступная:

немного в предисловии есть, там история появления видов практики и симбиозы с сутой (иогачара в основном) и тантрой, Похоже с Дзогченом: сначала сушностые наставления ввиде доха, которые являлись мгновенным методом прямого введения, ну а потом появились методики для людей средних способностей и малых. Очень хорошо осмысленно, вроде статей Германо о развитии систем практики Дзогчена втечение многих веков в Тибете. На амазоне можно почитать выборошныйе страницы из оглавления.

Книга Пaтрула, несомненно, более читаемая. Нo, вот, опубликована первая половина ещё одного Лам Рима традиции НИнгма.

The Lañkāvatāra and the Mahāyānaśraddhotpāda—śāstra.

The unique point of these two works with respect to the garbha theory
is their identification of the tathāgatagarbha with the ālayavijñāna— an
identification which has never been seen in previous works, even in those
of Vasubandhu. That is why the Lañkāvatāra is regarded by modern
scholars as a work produced after Vasubandhu. The Lañkāvatāra is
actually a collection of various theories among Mahāyāna Buddhism,
among which the garbha theory, and the Vijñānavāda are prominent,
and these two are combined under the theory of cittamātra taught in the
Avatamsaka. Later Vijñānavādins regarded the Lañkāvatāra as one of
the authorities, but in China it was respected by the followers of the
Avatamsaka school as well, because of its exposition of the cittamātra and
garbha theory. This is quite significant for determing the fate of the garbha
theory, to which we will refer at the end of this introduction.
This is another Sūtra not known to the Ratna., and it was translated for
the first time into Chinese in 433 A.D. 87). Therefore, the date of the Ratna.
cannot be placed after that year and probably lies in the 4th cent. A.D.
As for the Śraddhotpādaśāstra, its doctrine is purely of the garbha
theory in spite of its use of the term ālayavijñāna, and it is in one sense
the most systematic exposition of its kind. One point of similarity to
the Ratna. is the expression of faith in the Buddha Amitāyus towards the
end of the treatise. Another point which seems to be under the influence
of the Ratna. is its establishment of tathatā as the ultimate principle that
is the basis of both klista and aklista elements. It reminds us of the samalā
tathatā and nirmalā tathatā of the Ratna.

The Treasury of Precious Instructions or Dam-ngak Rinpoché Dzö is one of Jamgön Kongtrul’s Five Treasuries.
It can be considered one of the most important contributions to Tibetan literature,
and a further statement of Jamgön Kongtrul's non-sectarian values because it contains the collected transmissions
and esoteric instructions of the eight principal practice lineages of Tibetan Buddhism that trace their lineages back to India.

The project to translate all 18 volumes of The Treasury of Precious Instructions will take man
y years and involve numerous translators experienced in the different traditions represented in the collection.

Sarah Harding has already begun work on the two Zhijé and Chöd (Pacification and Severance Lineage) volumes,
and Richard Barron (Chökyi Nyima) has also begun translation of the two Nyingma volumes.

To mark the official beginning of this project, Tsadra Foundation printed Richard Barron's initial translation of Kongtrul’s Catalog
(dkar chag) of the 18 volumes of The Treasury of Precious Instructions, which is freely available for download on this page:
